Manage Deskman remotely, via web.
Remote DeskmanWhile Deskman allows you to configure some settings from a web browser, using the main interface is still required. Open the Settings window to enable the web interface. Click on the Web button to open the login page on your browser.
Once Deskman is set up, the web interface allows you to check if restrictions are in place, remove them, monitor the computer, to an extent, and keep track of the Deskman log. Web sessions expire after idle for 15 minutes.
StatusThe status page shows general system information, restrictions in place, and Deskman's status.
Check out the active profile, security level and other details. Press the Boss Mode link to toggle Boss Mode. Press the Snapshot link to take a picture of the desktop. To change the profile, go to the Profiles page.
ProfilesFrom the profiles page you can load and activate a profile. Select one of the available profiles from the list and press Activate Profile. On Windows Vista/Windows 7 Deskman will have to be elevated (in case UAC is enabled) to load and activate profiles. Fully activating a profile may require a log off, or reboot, to apply some restrictions.
Import/export profiles from the Assistant, located at the right side of the screen.
- New Task (Run...): Executes a command.
- Log Off: Logs the current user off the system.
- Reboot: Closes Windows and restarts the computer.
- Shut Down: Shuts down the system and turns the power off.
Visit the Log to learn about Deskman's activities. Everything Deskman does is kept in the Log. Detect if someone tried to open Deskman, or which applications or websites were closed, for example.
Logs are kept for 30 days and automatically deleted after that period, but you can delete everything by clicking Clear at the top.
Navigate the log by clicking Next | Previous. Modify the log lines per page by typing a number in the Lines box at the bottom, and pressing Return.
