Some important remarks and recommendations.
Use Secure PasswordsProtecting Deskman with a secure password is highly recommended. Activate the Boss Key to be able to disable restrictions in case of need, without having to share the password.
Security LevelsDeskman provides you with a high number of combinations to secure your system. Use the File | Save Profile menu to manage multiple security levels. Select carefully the restrictions to be applied: higher level of security = lower system control. Make use of the included security profiles.
Safe Task ManagerDeskman includes a Task Manager that substitutes Windows Task Manager. Make use of it to protect running services and applications, while allowing users to close unresponsive apps, open new ones, or access desktop icons.
MaintenanceAdministrators can disable restrictions temporarily by pressing the Boss Key. Administrators can also be included in the User Exceptions list (Setup), thus having full desktop access whenever they log in for maintenance tasks.
Remote AccessConnect to Deskman remotely, from your browser to load profiles, enable Boss Mode, and check your system status. Run Deskman remotely by using Remote Desktop/Terminal Services.
Configuration BackupMaintaining your configuration and security profiles is time-consuming. Backup your data from the File | Export menu.
Optimize Windows StartupTo make sure Deskman is started fast enough at Windows startup, your system should be in good shape.
