Deskman includes different profiles that you may use at your discrection. New profiles can be easily saved using the Main Menu.

Default Profiles

• Basic Protection: Recommended for protecting critical system settings.
• Limited Access: Creates a safe environment without removing access to the system.
• Advanced Protection: Secures the system tightly.
• Internet Explorer Protection: Recommended for protecting Internet Explorer settings.
• Kiosk Mode: Disables desktop and taskbar, and protects system access completely.

User Profiles

Once you have selected your restrictions, press Ctrl-S to save a profile. Still, the Secure button must be pressed to activated selected restrictions after loading a new profile.

Kiosk Mode

Certain configurations require a special -kiosk- mode that only allows the use of a specific application, while disabling access to all other system and desktop features. Deskman includes a kiosk mode profile for you to create a tightly secured desktop in a snap.

• Activate the kiosk mode by loading the Kiosk Mode profile from the File | Load Profile menu option.
• To disable it, load a different profile and press Secure, or uncheck all options and press Secure.
• Once the kiosk mode is enabled, the desktop is completely sealed.
• Upon restart/log on, the desktop will be empty of icons, without taskbar and no system keys allowed.
• You can enter the application(s) to be executed automatically at startup in the autorun list.

Activating profiles remotely

Open your browser and go to the Deskman login screen. Authenticate yourself, and click on profiles. From there you will be able to load and activate profiles remotely.
