Some recommendations on using Watchman.

Use a password

Protecting Watchman with password is highly recommended.

• Open the settings window to change the password.
  

Leave default tasks

Watchman comes with two default tasks. We recommend you to keep them.

• Basic Security : Using the Watchman Security profile, the task stops access to basic system programs and settings.
• Startup Warning : Using the User Warning profile, the task shows a message at startup warning users that their actions will be monitored.

Backup your data

Maintaining your tasks, profiles and resources could be time-consuming. Backup your data.

• Export : Save your task list, profiles and resources into a different location.
• Import : Insert your saved data into Watchman when upgrading, deploying, or when necessary.

Optimize Windows for a fast startup

To make sure Watchman is started fast enough at Windows startup, your system should be in good shape.

• Uninstall unused programs.
• Check what programs are configured to run during system bootup or login. Remove unused programs.
• Defragment your hard drive from time to time.
